In the Stillness

In the stillness of dark December
when all of nature is at rest,
I find time to pause and remember
how wonderfully God has blest.

In the stillness I come to thee,
as the Magi did at your birth,
I fall on bended knee
and feel at peace with all the Earth.

The slowing down at year's end
to reflect on what God has done,
how God cared enough to send
to Earth His most precious son.

In the stillness of falling snow
a hush falls over all the Earth,
animals and birds seem to know
that we are celebrating Jesus' birth.
